Born Without Hands, Vizianagaram Man Writes His Way to Success with Feet
Life can be challenging, but some people turn challenges into inspiration. Jami Simhachalam Naidu from Ganisettipalem village in Vizianagaram is one such person. Born without hands, he did not let his disability stop him. Recently, he cleared the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment exam and got a teaching job under the open category.
With an overall state rank of 320 and fourth rank in the differently-abled category, Simhachalam has become a symbol of determination and hope for everyone. His story shows that hard work and belief in yourself can overcome any obstacle.
Early Life: Learning to Adapt
Simhachalam’s parents were worried about his future when he was born. They didn’t know how he would manage daily life without hands. But everything changed when his uncle, a schoolteacher, encouraged him to start writing with his feet at the age of five.
Simhachalam practiced every day. Slowly, he learned to eat, read, and write using his feet. He did everything other children could do, proving that determination can beat any challenge.
“I have written all my exams using my feet. My family and friends always encouraged me. People should never lose hope over small problems,” he said.
Preparing for the DSC Exam
Even though he had health and financial challenges, Simhachalam worked hard for his DSC exam. He studied at home through online classes and practiced regularly. His dedication paid off, and he achieved amazing results.

Recognition and Celebration
Simhachalam’s achievement inspired his community and officials. Visakhapatnam district collector MN Harendhira Prasad congratulated him personally and gave him a shawl and bouquet.
The assistant director of the differently-abled welfare department, Kavitha, brought him to the collector’s office. Other officials, including joint collector K Mayur Ashok and DRO Bhavani Shankar, also praised his hard work and encouraged him to achieve even more in the future.
